When logging in and open the keybox it might happen a key position is not lighting up, even as you have access and the key is in, and you cannot release the pin.
The issue might be due to one of several possibilities:
- The key has been erased from the Keywin 5 application - in that case, re-register the pin.
- It might be the pin that is faulty and is losing contact with the list. If this is the case, you might even see false alarms from this pin if you look at the event log in Keywin 5. If there are false alarms (Key was taken by an unauthorized user) you should replace the pin.
- The keybox might have been out of power but keys have been taken or returned during this time. i.e. the cabinet does not have the correct status of the key. If that is the case then Open the door to the Keybox - push * without closing the door. Log in to the configuration menu with your service pin (factory default is 1234#) and go to the option "Unlock all lists" Press # twice, all positions in the keybox will now be opened and the PIN should be able to pick up. Close the door and open the door with your admin code (factory default 301042#), return the keys and close the door.
- The pin has been dislodged and is pinched in place rather than locked. If that might be the case then Open the door to the Keybox - push * without closing the door. Log in to the configuration menu with your service pin (factory default is 1234#) and go to the option "Unlock all lists" When you start the action, help the unlocking mechanism to pop out the pin by pressing hard on the pin, to the right. Press # twice to start, all positions in the keybox will now be opened and the PIN should be able to pick up. Close the door and open the door with your admin code (factory default 301042#), return the keys and close the door. If the issue repeats, the recommendation is to change the key pin and if the issue is still present after that, the list itself should be replaced.
