In some networks, you prefer to use a MAC address in the network instead of a fixed IP address that is set up on each individual network machine.
The MAC address is found on the simcom. (see image)
The MAC address needs to be set up in the network as using a fixed IP as both Keywin 5 and Keywin 6 uses a fixed IP to connect to the cabinet.
When you turn the cabinets DHCP function from OFF to ON, the MAC setup will assign the fixed IP to the cabinet.
The benefit is that even if you move or shut down the cabinet, as soon as it is plugged into the network again you will assign the IP address automatically.
